I have been out prowling nurseries that are open. This week I visited Grey Heron Nurseries, 206709 ON-26, Meaford, ON N4L 1W7. They didn't have a lot out yet, but there was a rack of Ranunculus. This is a gorgeous flower that is wonderful for cutting. The blooms are like small peonies and come in a range of colours from white, yellow, through oranges and pinks. I came home with three in different shades of pink.
If you buy them potted they are easy to grow in pots or transplanted into the garden. They are not hardy in our area, so if you want to keep them, the corms have to be lifted, dried and stored for the winter. The attached link gives you tips on how to care for ranunculus and the corms.
