The Optimist Club's Annual Kid’s Fishing Derby is just a few weeks away. Come on down to the Shipyard Park and fish for free.
If you don’t have a fishing rod we have one for you! There are rods and bait, so just bring yourself.
There are casting contests and prizes for largest fish, smallest fish and ugliest fish. Bring your kids, all ages are welcome to join the fun.
The event runs from 8 am to noon.

The TWOEYEDS project, a series of "Walk and Share" events, is planned for the summer of 2025 in Collingwood, ON. It's a collaboration between Beaver Valley Destination Stewardship, the Bagida'waad Alliance, and the Osprey Museum, supported by the Ontario Trillium Foundation. Poison Ivy
As your becoming more active outdoors, watch out for poison ivy. "Leaves of three, leave it be." The middle leaflet has a longer stalk than the side leaflets, and the edges can be smooth or coarsely toothed. The leaves can be reddish in the spring, turning green in summer and yellow, orange, or red in the fall.

It’s mostly fun and a little bit competitive – you’ll spend the morning of April 27 racing to find the preset checkpoints.
There is no set route so the skill and fun come from trying to find the best way to go! In competitive orienteering, the challenge is to complete the course in the quickest time.

Please be aware that the Blue Mountain Bruce Trail Club section has been temporarily closed due to the damage from the recent ice storm. The Bruce Trail Trail Maintenance Team are hard at work to clear the trails of the fallen debris.
