Dancers dance in "competition" formats like all sports. Physical movement , but done to "music"! So they have the added ingredient of moving in unison to the beat or phrasing of the music while dealing with speed, strength, coordination, timing, skill, and team work. These components all play apart in group dance competitors.
Hours and hours are spent developing skills so they are ready for "that perfect leap" when the music calls for it. …
